Polea Lab is a first pilot of the Polea initiative, motivated by DIHBU, focused on the implementation of industrial scale-up labs centred on two key technologies –5G industrial and Exoskeletons/Cobots-, which have been analysed as high demand technologies, with the aim of bringing their pioneering applications to the regional business fabric as a source of competitiveness.

The main objective of the POLEA initiative is to turn Castilla y León region into a national benchmark in the industrial scaling of cutting-edge technological solutions. Polea is aimed at bridging the gap between the technological development phase and the industrialisation phase, making infrastructure viable that allows testing in an environment similar to the real one, oriented towards efficient technological demonstration, conclusions to industrial scaling and acceleration of supply-demand projects.

Lab Robotics and industrial exoskeletons

Collaborative robotics (including mobile robotics) and the use of industrial exoskeletons for manufacturing environments are fundamental elements both for the improvement of industrial processes and for the creation of a sub-ecosystem within the industrial digitalisation ecosystem that will allow Burgos, and Castilla y León, to be a benchmark in the design, development, application and manufacture of these innovative industrial solutions, through a genuine system of industrial scaling and acceleration.

The lab is focused on prototyping, testing and validation of solutions based on collaborative and mobile robotics, and exoskeletons for operator support, efficient industrial automation, intralogistics, and Industry 5.0 applications.

It consists of equipment suitable for prototyping, advanced demonstration, and feasibility testing, as well as for scaling up solutions.

The uniqueness of this lab is that it integrates the first infrastructure in Spain that allows the design, testing and industrial scaling of this type of solutions in the same place, as well as facilitating the provision of high-level practical training through the use of on-site technology.

Location of the Lab: Edificio Servicios Generales ITCL. C/López Bravo, 70, Burgos 09001

Industrial 5G Lab

It is supported by an ad-hoc 5G node, which allows the establishment of a private 5G network in the Lab, with enough capacity for testing, validation, and scaling of solutions oriented to industrial scenarios / advanced manufacturing pilots.

A lab equipped with all the necessary elements and assets for functional testing of robotic elements, autonomous platforms, connectivity of machine control systems and very high performance sensors, application of digital twins, image processing, virtual scenarios, advanced data communication.
