During DIGIVIT held in Lerma (Burgos) recently, we had the privilege of representing DIGIS3, European Centre for Digital Innovation, which operates from Castilla y León, in a round table dedicated to these European centres (EDIHs) and its role in the digital transformation of the agri-food sector.
At the round table, our manager Belén Lanuza participated as moderator where other EDIHs such as DATALIFE (Galicia) and ASINCAR (Asturias) shared experiences on how to bring advanced digital services to the rural productive fabric.

From DIGIS3 we presented examples of support services that SMEs and rural public organizations can count on, to bring digital innovation to strategic sectors such as agri-food and, in particular, wine.
In relation to the wine sector, a number of technologies that could be facilitated by EDIHs were highlighted at the table: From advanced systems for monitoring the vineyard using sensors and remote sensing, to digital traceability solutions, predictive models of harvest quality, or even the automation of processes in the winery by collaborative robotics or artificial intelligence.
We emphasize the importance of EDIHs as bridges between technology and industry, able to dynamize strategic sectors such as wine production, in a context of global competitiveness and climate change. In addition, we strengthened collaboration with other hubs present and with tractive entities of the regional agro-food ecosystem, thus promoting new opportunities for cooperation in future calls and pilot projects.
